Browse safely - even with Windows - PART 1

0.There is NO 100% SECURE BROWSING ON THE INTERNET.

1.For the Windows fans: In order to keep you safe, just browse the internet with a bootable live-cd inside your optical unit (tor might be the best), or something like d.s.l./xubuntu...The smaller = the better, but a bootable linux (almost any distro) is VERY LITTLE EXPOSED TO THREATS ... That s the best you can get.

Even if you have windows, you can do this :
 - download a distro - here it is Ubuntu Mate (a good distro)
 - Burn a bootable dvd
 - insert it in your dvd
 - restart
 - ENJOY THE NET (for tutorials, on shady forums especially, is the best thing to do)
 - does not have any flash - SO NO MULTI MEDIA (as far as i know)
 - use an external hard disk to save pages (save as page, save pdf, ...)
 - go offline
 - restart
 - remain offline
 - read those pages - take notes
 - restart
 - experiment if you want to

If you find something interesting, then you just have to save it (if you want to tighten your security - keep your eyes open and don t click on anything, especially when you are in troubled waters, like flash games that you don t trust 100%)

 2.For Ubuntu users :
Well, THE OTHER OPTION - the second best: ALWAYS UPDATE YOUR SECURITY SOFTWARE...
Always check ONLY this sources, and if you trust a source and you need a soft (or you just want to experience something on your computer), you can check the other sources to, if you are prompted to do so, and THEN REMEMBER TO UNCHECK THEM AGAIN....

3. At some point you will have to learn more about your computer structure, and your software structure (layers:
 - 5.bios - keeps the life inside your hardware - power, tension, administrates the most vital resources
 - 4.boot - starts your computer - it wakes him up
 - 3.linux kernel - "thinks what resource goes where"
 - 2.software - helps you do the tasks
and the most important is your terminal = press simultaneously "ctrl" + "alt" + "T"
 - 1.gui = graphic user interface - its what you see)

AND AS YOU CAN SEE IT S VERY EASY

4.  For Smartphone users is very important to find how to do this (THERE IS GOT TO BE A SIMILAR WAY) properly :

Clean your computer (UBUNTU VERSION) :
 - clean your kernel headers (click here for tutorial)

It s very important = the space is allocated for software in certain way, and the most important part has a limited ammount of space, wich at some point if you always update/upgrade, it will run out
 And IT S VERY EASY.

- clean your browser (be careful - save your passwords in writing) - i will come back about cleaning your browser.
