Thanks Google, I just spent $1,500 on a project you abandoned

Less than a month ago, I purchased Google Glass. What I didn’t realize was that as a “Glass Explorer,” my journey of discovery would be a relatively short one. Google has announced it’s to stop selling Glass to the general public — which presumably foreshadows an end in support — and will concentrate on a new, as yet unseen version of Glass.
Glass suddenly feels like a very expensive Kickstarter project. It always sounds awesome at first, and some charismatic people do a fabulous job of selling the concept to you. You slap down some money, and eventually get a half-baked product that’s quickly abandoned by its makers. That’s the risk you take with crowd-funding, and for “investing” in companies called Bob’s Bright Tech Ideaz. However, it’s not what anyone expects from multi-national, multi-billion-dollar firms like Google.

Google Stops Selling Its Google Glass Product To Improve On The Design And Usability

Google has decided to stop the consumer sales of Google Glass till such time it attempts to improve on the design and turn it into something the public can actually use easily. The glasses have faced rejection because people are not ready to wear a computer on their faces.

Many Users Not Sure About How To Use The Glasses

Google has decided to stop the consumer sales of Google Glass till such time it attempts to improve on the design and turn it into something the public can actually use easily. The glasses have faced rejection because people are not ready to wear a computer on their faces. Bars have also banned it. The responsibility to increase its viability has fallen on Tony Fadell, the CEO of smart-home device maker Nest Labs. The glass has a futuristic look, and most of all, there was a fear that users could covertly record video. But perhaps the biggest problem is that people are really not quite sure how or why to use it.
