07.Tinder Plus Is Official, But Pricing May Annoy You

Most can get Tinder Plus for $9.99 a month. Unless you're above the age of 30.

Heads up, online daters. The rumors about Tinder Plus were true.
As expected, the dating app on Monday morning officially launched a premium tier with a few perks you won't find in the free version — including the ability to scope out prospective hotties in a different city, undo your last swipe if you messed up, and like an unlimited amount of people.
But on a sour note, you might not be too thrilled with the pricing — especially if you're over the age of 30. Those who have been on this Earth for three decades or more will have to pay $19.99 a month for these new features. Everyone else can get Tinder Plus for just $9.99 a month.
A Tinder spokeswoman said the price divide was strictly a business decision made after "extensive" testing in several countries.

"We've priced Tinder Plus based on a combination of factors, including what we've learned through our testing, and we've found that these price points were adopted very well by certain age demographics," the spokeswoman wrote in an email to PCMag.com. "Lots of products offer differentiated price tiers by age, like Spotify does for students, for example. Tinder is no different; during our testing we've learned, not surprisingly, that younger users are just as excited about TinderPlus, but are more budget constrained, and need a lower price to pull the trigger."
She added that the "majority" of Tinder users are under the age of 30.
Meanwhile, the price difference is even bigger in other areas of the word like the U.K., where those under the age of 28 can pay £3.99 ($6.39) a month for Tinder Plus but those 28 and over have to shell out £14.99 ($23.03) a month — not just double, but nearly four times as much — for the same exact set of features.
