ET deals: Sony Smartwatch 3 fitness tracker for $225

Sony’s latest smartwatch is still pretty new and hasn’t really been discounted yet. So we were excited when we found we could lop 10% off the price of this fitness-friendly watch with a coupon code, bringing it down to just $225.
The new Sony Smartwatch 3 runs Android Wear, so it can be utilized by anyone with an Android phone with Android 4.3 or later installed. A particular highlight of this watch is that it’s the only Android Wear watch to include a built-in GPS, making it ideal for runners and others who want to track their location precisely through apps like RunKeeper or the included iFit. As for the specs, this watch uses a 1.6-inch screen with a 320×320 resolution and a transflective LCD that reads well in direct sunlight. It also packs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 512MB of RAM that will deliver smooth performance, and 4GB of built-in storage for apps, music and more from Google Play.

Tizen-based Samsung cameras and round smartwatch leaked

Recent leaks show three new Samsung Tizen devices: a pair of cameras, and a round-faced “Orbis” watch with a digital crown, bezel, and wireless charging.
Earlier in the month, Samsung announced that Tizen would fuel all its 2015 smart TVs, and last week when Samsung finally launched its first Tizen phone — the India-targeted Z1 — the consumer electronics giant made its most ambitious claims about Tizen to date. By the end of the decade, many if not most Samsung products that can capably run Tizen will indeed run Tizen, said the company. The exception appears to be high-end smartphones and tablets, which will likely stay with Android for now.
Now, several new Tizen-based Samsung gizmos have popped up on SamMobile via leaks: an Orbis smartwatch and both an NX500 camera and NX3300 camera. Neither are new-category breakthroughs, as the Orbis would represent Samsung’s third generation of Tizen smartwatches, following up on the most recent Galaxy S model, and the NX500 would update the NX300M, which was announced over a year ago. Still, it’s a sign that Samsung is fully behind the mobile Linux operating system after appearing to waver in 2014.

HTC One M9 to boast 20-megapixel camera, smartwatch coming too says report

The new HTC flagship and first wearable are reported to be on their way at MWC in a few weeks.
The HTC One M9 could be just weeks away, and is set to bring with it HTC's first smartwatch.

That's according to the latest rumours surrounding the follow-up to last year's HTC One M8. The new flagship is likely to be a big deal for the troubled Taiwanese company, but with Samsung's dominance over the Android smartphone market slipping, there's everything to play for.
According to Bloomberg, the HTC One M9 will boast a 20-megapixel camera. That marks a departure from the so-called ultrapixel camera on the M8. HTC made up the name ultrapixel to describe a camera with a lower 4-megapixel resolution than you might expect from a flagship phone, on the basis that fewer, larger individual pixels are less prone to image noise.

Whether that means HTC is abandoning the ultrapixel concept remains to be seen.
