09.Why Samsung decided to launch two Galaxy S6 phones? Move betrays the company’s lack of confidence

We’ve seen Apple release two variants of its iPhone 6, and now Samsung follows suit with the new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. While Apple had to up its ante and give into user feedback by churning out a larger display model to cater to a specific demand from fans, Samsung does not seem to have any particular reason for why it opted for two models.
Wouldn’t the innovative and unique S6 Edge design been more than enough for a Samsung flagship? The device has already addressed the major criticism against Samsung, which is its design. The Galaxy S6 Edge has a great design, which is bot refreshing and different. The other Galaxy S6 variant seems just futile, especially considering that there isn’t much difference in the specs except the Edge has a slightly larger battery. Both Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge sport a similar display size, camera and most other features are also exactly the same. With the design change being the only prime difference between the two models, Samsung has made it difficult for users to get their hands on the better variant by pricing it about Rs 10,000 higher than the Galaxy S6.

The move speaks of an utter lack of confidence on the part of Samsung. It says Samsung wasn’t confident enough to launch the Galaxy S6 Edge as its solo flagship model and was therefore hedging its bets.

Lately, Samsung has started losing its grip over the markets that it once dominated. From falling shares to a decline in sales and a bunch of dud flagships, the future of the company doesn’t look bright, and may well be on the same path of ruin as Nokia.
