Apple Leak Reveals iOS 9 Early Release

iOS 8 is a superb platform, but it has also been plagued by bugs. Arguably even more damaging for Apple , however, has been its ongoing struggle to fix them. So the company has had a simple but brilliant idea.
According to the ever reliable 9to5Mac, which cites “multiple people briefed on the plans”, Apple will perform a policy U-turn and begin releasing public betas of its latest iOS versions.
9to5Mac claims iOS 8.3 will be the first public beta in mid-March (iOS 8.2isn’t even out the door yet). This will tie in with iOS 8.3’s third beta release for developers which shows Apple sensibly isn’t pushing the very first beta straight to the public. It will also give cautious users more reassurance that new iOS versions are more widely tested before official launches.
Interested users will be able to get the software using Apple’s existingAppleSeed feedback program.
Far more exciting though is news Apple will also apply this policy to iOS 9. The company is expected to debut the next gen release at its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June and follow up “with a public beta release during the summer, and final release in the fall.”

Rugged box-PC offers HDMI and dual GbE, starts at $671

Acnodes’s rugged, fanless, Linux-friendly “FES8680″ box-PC features a 4th Gen Intel Core CPU, HDMI, dual GbE, and up to eight COM ports, and starts at $671.
The FES8680 is a spin-down of the rugged FES8670 announced by Acnodes last month, and similarly runs on Intel’s 4th Gen Core (Haswell) processors. The 10.24 x 8.19 x 2.3-inch FES8680 is built around a “long-life” Mini-ITX motherboard, and is targeted at outdoor advertising, POS/kiosk, transportation, and industrial control automation, says Acnodes.
Although the FES8680 is touted for its rugged aluminum chassis, it lacks the earlier model’s extended temperature support or other ruggedization features. It does, however, similarly support a wide-range power input, and offers DIN-rail and wall-mounting options.
The $671 FES8680 starter package ships with a dual-core, 2.9GHz Core i3-4130T CPU and 2GB of DDR3 RAM expandable to 16GB. A 320GB hard disk drive is standard, as well. You can further expand with an mSATA slot shared with a mini-PCIe interface that supports an optional WiFi and Bluetooth module, with dual antenna connectors.

Testing the Acer Iconia Tab 8, Full HD screen that changes everything

Very involved in the market for tablets, Acer has renewed its range late last year by unveiling new products better equipped and always at great rates. After testing the Iconia Tab 10, the 10-inch model, the Iconia Tab 8 arrived on our shelves. Again, the price / quality ratio looks promising. Checks.

Data sheet
The Acer Iconia Tab 8 is a milestone in our history of the brand devices we have tested. On paper, it seems to have many more arguments than the models of previous years, even though its price does not take off a bit. It includes an 8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels, and giving a good density of 283 pixels per inch. This is an Intel Atom Z3745 processor clocked at 1.33 GHz that drives the tablet, the same as we already found in the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2. The SoC is coupled with an Intel HD Graphics chip and 2 GB (LPDDR3 -1066) of RAM. The Acer Iconia Tab 8 has an internal storage of 16 GB with micro SD media up to 128 GB, a back camera of 5 megapixels, and a battery of 4600 mAh.
