GEEK TO ME: Lessons for the Samsung S5

Question: Are you aware of instructors locally, not the Samsung website, who can teach the operations of the Samsung S5, whether fee for service, classes or home service. We have an S5 that is giving us fits.

>> Walter D. Miramar Beach, Fla.
Answer: This sounds like a good question for my fellow Geeks to answer, since I personally do not know of anyone offering Smartphone classes locally, much lessclasses specific to your model.

If anyone knows of such classes available in-person in Walter’s local area, reply to this article over onItsGeekToMe.co. Not only will you help-out Walter, you’ll automatically be entered in the February contest. In the meantime, Walter, how about some online training? Lynda.com is an online learning company that offers subscription- based training courses, taught by industry experts.

Is LG G3 Responsible for the Fall of the Samsung Galaxy S5?

LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy S5 are the two flagship phones which nobody is ever going to get tired comparing of. Over the last few years, LG has been seeing a huge increase in profits while Samsung’s profits have been decreasing quarter after quarter. Today, we’re going to focus on these two companies, and the LG G3 vs the Samsung Galaxy S5, and discuss if LG is the sole reason for Samsung’s recent decline.

LG’s Rise

LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy S5

LG has had a lot of momentum over the past three years. Ever since they teamed up with Google to release the Nexus 4, we’ve watched LG take the knowledge they gained and apply it to their own smartphones. The LG Optimus G Pro was the first of their own real Android smartphones and it showed the world that LG was to be taken seriously. The following year, LG released the LG G2 and it was so good that it made a lot of people’s best Android smartphones list for 2013. In 2014, LG kept that momentum going with the LG G3 and they showed everyone that they weren’t afraid to innovate in an incredibly competitive market.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop release is making substantial progress, so much progress in fact, that we continue to get tons of questions about the update and its roll out. Today, we want to fill you in on a few thing we think you should expect now from the Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update and its release in the U.S. and around the globe.
Samsung is rolling out its Galaxy Android 5.0 Lollipop updates in force to several top devices including the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, and the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 Lollipop release was the company’s first and it continues to make substantial progress as we push on through February deeper into the new year. That said, there’s still a long way to go.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop update has been rolling out since December. And since then, Samsung’s managed to get it out to a number of different variants in a number of different regions including here in the United States. The update represents the Galaxy S5’s first major Android update and as such, it delivers a host of new features, enhancements and fixes to owners of the current Galaxy S flagship.

Samsung Galaxy S5 to get Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update in U.S. soon, 5.0.1 update leaked for S4

The Android 5.0 Lollipop OS for the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be coming to the U.S. soon, although the official release date of the update is still unknown.
More countries in Europe are now enjoying Android 5.0 in their Galaxy S5 handsets as it seems that Samsung is focusing on European countries when it comes to rolling out the update. The sweet taste of Lollipop has reached Poland, Spain, Russia, and the U.K. Samsung-centric tech blog SamMobile added that the tech giant will soon roll out the update to some other European nations such as the Czech Republic and Romania, and more users in Spain.
Surprisingly, some users in a few Asian countries like Hong Kong and Malaysia reportedly received the OS update, which hints that Asian countries are next in line. The fast rollout of the 5.0 update suggests that Galaxy S5 users in the far west will see it on their handsets soon.
It can be surmised that Samsung is very systematic in rolling out the latest Android update.
