Octa-Core : Blu Vivo Air Review

PROS
  • Fantastic build quality
  • Thin and lightweight
  • Decent battery life
  • Affordable
CONS
  • Subpar camera
  • Some performance hiccups
  • Lacks LTE
8.0
The Blu Vivo Air features great build quality in a super thin package, and while it does fall short in a few areas, it is a fantastic smartphone overall, at a very affordable price.

Blu may not be the most well-known of Android OEMs, but the Florida-based phone manufacturer has been continuing to add to an impressive portfolio of high-quality but affordable smartphones over the past few years. Blu took the wraps off several new smartphones at CES 2015 earlier this month, and today, we’ll be taking a closer look  at one of these. Also serving as the thinnest smartphone currently available in the US, here is our in-depth review of the Blu Vivo Air!

Octa-Core : HTC Desire 826 Octa-Core to launch in India starting Rs. 22,499

Taiwanese smartphone company HTC announced its upcoming Desire 826 early this month in CES 2015. But the company didn’t tell much about the pricing of the phone. Now that the phone has launched in China, the price has been revealed.

According to HTC, the 16 GB model of HTC Desire 826 will cost CNY 2,299, which is roughly Rs. 22,600. Customers who need even more storage can opt for 32 GB model which costs CNY 2,499, about Rs. 24,500.

Anyone living in China can order the phone from HTC Eshop online. The phone will eventually make its way into India, too. However, people can get a rough estimate of the price of the new phone now that it’s launched in the sub-continent.
In case you need a reminder, HTC Desire 826 is a 5.5-inch full HD display phone that comes in both single-SIM and dual-SIM variants depending on the region. Octa-Core: ZTE Blade S6 delivers octa-core Android 5.0 on a budget

ZTE goes after a younger crowd with its Blade S6. ZTE
What has eight cores and is made by ZTE? The company's latest smartphone, the 4G LTE-equipped Blade S6. Powered by Android 5.0, it's a cost-conscious attempt to attract the younger user base.

Apart from the eight-core chipset, hardware details are par for the course. They include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 CPU with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Additionally, we find a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and microSD expansion.
As for the display, ZTE is somewhat tight-lipped on the finer details. Listed only as "5-inch HD," we might look for something at 720p rather than 1080p. On a positive note, if this turns out to be the case, it could potentially lead to longer battery life.

The ZTE Blade S6 will be offered for $250 (which converts to £165 or $AU314) in silver or pink-matte finish when it launches. ZTE did not disclose carrier specifics or exact timing.

Octa-Core: Meizu unveils Meilan m1, new m1 Note variant, LifeKit platform

Meizu made quite a splash yesterday when it unveiled not one but three new products. Well, two and a half to be precise, as one is just a different variant. That variant is the new Meilan m1 Note for China Telecom, this time bearing a Snapdragon 615 instead of a MediaTek. Completely new, however, is its smaller sibling, the Meilan m1, with a 5-inch screen instead of the larger 5.5. And last but not the least, Meizu is expanding into your homes with a new LifeKit platform for smart appliances.

The variant of the Meilan m1 note is meant only for China Telecom subscribers. If you are one of those, you will get a model that bears a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 inside. All the rest, however, will get a 64-bit octa core MediaTek MT6752 instead. Everything else remains the same and it all boils down to processor brand preference and carrier loyalties.

The star of Meizu's show, however, is the totally new Meilan m1, which is, for all intents and purposes a smaller and unfortunately less powerful version of the colorful Meilan m1 note. Compared to the phablet, the Meilan m1 sports a 5-inch 1280x768 screen, also made by AUO, a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6732 CPU and 1 GB of RAM. It has only 8 GB of storage but can be augmented by a 128 GB microSD card. The cameras, however, are practically the same, with a 13 megapixel rear camera by Samsung and a 5 megapixel front shooter by OV.

Samsung To Release A Galaxy S5 With An 8-Core Processor

Samsung has quietly announced that there will be two variations of the Galaxy S5. One will run the quad-core Snapdragon 801 with a 2.5GHz clock speed along with another model powered by an octo-core Exynos SoC running at 2.1GHz.
8 cores. 2.1Ghz. All that power, all those cores. In the palm your sweaty little hands.
The details are still on the light side but Samsung has done this in the past. There was a Galaxy S4 flavor that ran a previous version of the Exynos Octa-core. That model was designed for and exclusively sold in the Korean market.
